Niel Thassim

Niel Thassim is Global Chief Operating Officer and Head of Europe for Brookfield¡¯s Global Client Group. In this role, he is responsible for various aspects of the group¡¯s business and the evolution of our client strategy globally. Previously, Mr. Thassim was Head of Asia Pacific & Middle East for Brookfield¡¯s Global Client Group.
Prior to joining Brookfield in 2013, Mr. Thassim served as managing director and Asia Pacific head of Deutsche Bank¡¯s real estate investment management business (RREEF) following several senior roles within RREEF and Deutsche Bank. Before that, he held executive positions with Coopers & Lybrand, Bankers Trust, Credit Suisse First Boston and Colonial First State Investments.
Mr. Thassim holds a Master of Applied Finance degree from Macquarie University and a Bachelor of Economics degree from the University of Sydney. He serves as a Global Governing Trustee of the Urban Land Institute and is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia.
